VOTE ON ELECTION DAY, NOVEMBER 3, 2020
You can register to vote
The deadline to register to vote is October 27, 11:59 p.m. online; close of business at DMV offices; postmarked by this date if done by mail; or by 8 p.m. if done in person at town halls, where offices must remain open until that time.
CT also has Election Day Registration available.
On November 3, 2020, Connecticut Polling Locations will be open from 6am to 8pm. Your polling (voting) location is based on your home address and can be found by completing the information in the link below.
Absentee Ballots require a TWO-STEP process. You must first submit an application to receive a ballot and then you may vote using the ballot.
In 2020, all registered voters will be mailed a ballot application in mid-September which you must complete and return for your ballot. OR you may download the application now from the Secretary of State's website. Follow the instructions CAREFULLY.
Note: Absentee Ballot applications may be mailed or dropped off in the Absentee Ballot drop box in your town (Norwalk boxes are at City Hall, the Police Station, and the Library on Belden; Wilton box is at the police station; Westport box is behind Town Hall).
Beginning on October 2nd, the actual ballots will begin mailing to anyone who returned an application. Your completed ballots may be dropped off in the Absentee Ballot drop box in your town beginning on October 2nd and continuing through Election Day. They may also be mailed via the postal service.
When completing your ballot, FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS VERY CAREFULLY.
Delivery deadline for absentee ballots (not postmark) is 8 p.m., either by mail or in drop boxes.
If you are mailing your ballot or using the dropbox, you may check online to confirm it was received at https://portaldir.ct.gov/sots/LookUp.aspx
In the past, rideshare companies LYFT and UBER offered 50% off promo codes and FREE RIDES to the polls via their APP. Given the pandemic, this may change, but we will update you here if we learn of similar programs.
If you are concerned about having transportation to the polls, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
